"THE HUMANIST OF THE 20TH CENTURY AWARD" TO BE PRESENTED IN SARAJEVO

SARAJEVO,Bosnia - The Bosnian Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić met with the representatives of the Organizational Committee of the International League of Humanists.

The representatives of the Organizational Committee of the International League of Humanists informed the Bosnian Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić that in the period of September 20-23, 2007, in Sarajevo, upon invitation and in organization of the International League of Humanists, Waclav Havel, Kiro Gligorov and Milan Kučan, former presidents of the Czech Republic, Macedonia and Slovenia, as well as Stjepan Mesić, the President of Croatia, will be presented with the highest awards of the International League of Humanists called “The Humanist of the 20th century”.

“We consider presentation of these awards to the proven friends of Bosnia, also as a manifestation of their support to Bosnia on its way to the European Union”, said Ugo Vlaisavljević, the President of the Organizational Committee of the International League of Humanists.

Their intention is to have this great festivity at the highest level, which will take place on September 20, 2007, and they expressed wish that the Bosnian Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić takes on patronage, which he gladly accepted.

“The Humanist of the 20th Century” acknowledgement is the greatest acknowledgement awarded by the International League of Humanists.

YOUNG BOSNIAN EXPERTS TO TAKE PART IN IMAGINE CUP 2007 COMPETITION IN SOUTH KOREA

SEOUL,South Korea – Young experts from EducaBot will represent Bosnia at this year’s Imagine Cup 2007 final competition in Seoul,South Korea.

EducaBot, a team from the Faculty of Electric Engineering In Sarajevo, won first place at the Imagine Cup competition in Bosnia this year with its design of an intelligent robot.

Imagine Cup is an annual competition sponsored and hosted by Microsoft Corp. which brings together young technologists worldwide to help resolve some of the world's toughest challenges.

Primarily a software design competition, it enlists teams of four within the high school and collegiate levels to submit software solutions addressing a specifically provided theme.

Started in 2002, it has steadily grown in size, where in 2007 127,000 competitors representing over 100 countries competed in the nine Imagine Cup invitationals.
