TURKISH FOREIGN TRADE CHAMBER REPRESENTATIVES TO VISIT BOSNIA

SARAJEVO,Bosnia – The Bosnian Foreign Trade Chamber announced that a delegation of Turkish Foreign Trade Chamber from Afyonkarahisar region of Turkey will visit Bosnia on September 4. President of the Chamber Melih Yurter will lead the delegation.

”Representatives of 17 companies from various sectors like construction, furniture, leather, chemical industry, are expected to arrive”, Enes Aliskovic, Director of Chamber’s Department for International Economic Relations said.

The companies are interested in import and export affairs. Purpose of their visit is to identify possibilities of trade and joint investments.

Aliskovic said that the accent will be placed upon a more significant presence of the Bosnian merchandise at the Turkish market.

Turkey is a significant trade partner of Bosnia and the two counties have signed the Agreement on Free Trade.

SLOVENIA AND GREECE REGIONAL LEADERS IN INTERNET USE

SARAJEVO,Bosnia - More than half of Slovenians and a third of Greeks are online, according to new statistics.The figures were published on August 19th by http://www.internetworldstats.com.

Slovenia and Greece are the top two countries in the Balkans when it comes to internet use, with 55.5% and 33.5% of their populations online, respectively. Next are Croatia (32.9%), Bulgaria (28.7%) Macedonia (19.2%), Montenegro (17.6%), Bosnia (17.3%), Serbia (13.9%), and Albania (6.1%).

SUMMER SCHOOL "VISION OF A MODERN UNIVERSITY" CLOSES

SARAJEVO,Bosnia – The First Summer School 2007 entitled “Vision of a Modern University” and “Sarajevo – European Region of Culture” closed in Sarajevo yesterday.

Purpose of the school is to assemble students from the EU and Bosnian universities in order to exchange experience in the field of the Bosnian higher education reform and Bologna Declaration implementation at European universities.

Students also talked about the possibilities of their more active involvement in the Bologna Declaration implementation processes and cooperation between the universities.

Samir Arnautovic, the Sarajevo University Provost said that the University is supportive of the project and that the students’ creativity will be supported in the future.

15 students from Bosnia and 15 students from the EU participated. Lecturers were the Uiversity of Sarajevo professors, ACIPS and the FBIH Entity Ministry of Culture representatives.
