INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY'S HIGH REPRESENTATIVE IN BOSNIA MIROSLAV LAJCAK TO HOLD MEETINGS WITH BOSNIA'S POLITICIANS ON POLICE REFORM THIS WEEK

SARAJEVO,Bosnia – The international community's High representative and the EU Special Representative in Bosnia Miroslav Lajcak will hold individual meetings this week with political parties’ leaders in Bosnia on police reform; the Office of the High Representative in Bosnia (OHR) said.

OHR Spokesman Oleg Milisic stated that the meetings will be held at several locations in Bosnia, but could not make any precisions related to the issue.

OHR emphasized that the three EU principles for police reform will provide enough of space for an agreement.

He added that, at this point, police reform is a matter of solving technicalities.

Milisic said that the police reform is a priority for the HR because it is the condition for signing the the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) between Bosnia and the EU.

DELEGATION FROM SUDAN VISITS BOSNIA

SARAJEVO,Bosnia – The Bosnian Minister of Human Rights and Refugees Safet Halilovic had a meeting in Sarajevo with a delegation from Sudan, lead by Minister Azhari Eltigani Aead El Sayed.

They talked about the political and situation in other sectors in the two countries, as well as about possibilities of cooperation.

Having exchanged information on the current situation in Bosnia and Sudan, Halilovic and El Sayed stated that the two countries’ rich experience says enough about the states and peoples who have always cherished peace, tolerance and co-existence and are willing to spread those universal values around the world.

Halilovic said that Bosnia is grateful to the people and government of Sudan for the support. He added that there is an interest in expanding cooperation in the sector of economy.

They talked about cooperation in the field of education and culture. Minister El Sayed accepted the initiative for deepening of cooperation between the two countries. He asked Bosnia as well as other countries of Europe to help spreading the truth about Sudan.

MOST OF THE EMPLOYEES IN BOSNIA DISSATISFIED WITH THEIR JOBS

SARAJEVO,Bosnia – Most of the employees in Bosnia are dissatisfied with their current jobs; and the reason mostly cited is low salaries and pressures coming from a bad management.

Research conducted by the http://www.posao.ba web portal among 834 examinees (51,5 per cent women and 48.5 per cent men) on their current jobs showed that 51 per cent of them hopes to find a better job, 17.6 per cent of the people are completely dissatisfied and 31.4 per cent is completely satisfied with their current jobs.

Small salaries are the most frequent reason of the dissatisfaction. Mobbing, bad management, bad colleagues, inability of promotion, working hours, working weekends and nonexistence of holidays, illegal work, part-time jobs, etc., are some other reasons causing employees’ dissatisfaction.

Most of the examinees (60.4 per cent) are of the opinion that they are underpaid and 39.6 per cent think otherwise.

75 per cent of the employees have regular salaries and 16 per cent of the examinees stated their salaries are usually late for several weeks. 3 per cent of examinees stated their salaries have been late for months. 6 per cent of the examinees stated they are not being paid at all.

80,3 per cent of the examinees are not afraid of changing their jobs.Some of the examinees stated to be satisfied to have a job in the first place.
