BOSNIAN STATE COURT CATEGORICALLY REJECTS ALL THE ACCUSATIONS RELATED TO THE JUDGES' OBJECTIVITY
SARAJEVO,Bosnia - The Bosnian State Court expressed concerns over continuous and attacks without any basis against this institution. All those comments have been made by politicians. The political leader of the Serbians living in Bosnia,Milorad Dodik commented in the media on August 10 and 11 the work of the Bosnian judiciary institutions. The Court is of the opinion that this was an attempt of pressure against the work of this institution.
”Although the Bosnian State Court does not have any statistics related to the ethnicity of the indictees, a simple overview of the verdicts in the cases of war crimes and organized crime, would show that the allegations of Mr. Dodik are incorrect. As a reminder, he stated that only certina nationalities are processed at the Bosnian State Court. All those documents are public and available to the citizens”, the Bosnian State Court announced.
The Court has also emphasized that all activities are in accordance with the indictments and nobody can influence the “selection of indictees”. Independent and objective decision on any case should be passed by the prosecutor in charge, not by media representatives or politicians.
Otherwise, the Court might face with the indictments that have been raised against some persons without enough of evidence. In those cases, passing the not-guilty verdicts would mean an enormous waste of money for the Bosnian state.
”Attacks of the politicians and accusations related to the Bosnian state Court’s objectivity in certain cases were made without any prior analysis of judiciary sector’s work. They create mistrust and fear in the eyes of the citizens”, the announcement states.
It has been emphasized that the Bosnian politicians should not deal with the criminal procedures. They should insist on creating and maintaining preconditions for judiciary institutions’ righteous work.
The Bosnian State Court has already been a target to the attacks made by politicians mostly.
”This institutions has shown a number of times that the indictees and suspects are all treated equally in the eyes of the law and that nobody will be denied the right for a fair trial. Nobody will be treated differently because of his or her nationality. These are the principles this institution will always maintain and will not give them up regardless of all the pressures and circumstances”, the Court announced.
The Bosnian State Court emphasized to have already rejected several demands for passing the information on the indictees’ ethnicity and nationality.
