BOSNIAN VALLEY OF PYRAMIDS RESEARCH SEASON STARTED

VISOKO,Bosnia - A new Bosnian Valley of Pyramids research season started off yesterday by signing the Agreement on Cooperation between the “Archeological Park Foundation: the Bosnian Pyramid of Sun”, the Visoko Municipality and the Visoko Town Museum.Excavations at the Bosnian Valley of Pyramids are due to get underway this week, after the site remained covered during the winter months. The new programme of excavations for 2007 will be launched today ,April 12th, 2007, at a press conference in Sarajevo. The areas to be excavated will be based on a report based on geo-radar data gathered during a survey made during the winter at the site in the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids.The final reports of the geo-scannings, achieved by LGA from Germany and the Insitute of Geophysics from Belgrade, will be presented by the experts of both agencies; whom discovered the potential pyramid entrances during the winter months.

In 2007 the excavation period will last for around 200 days. This year the Foundation expects experts from around the world to support the work, and thousands of volunteers to take part in the planned excavation work.

The reasearch will be concentrated mainly on the Bosnian Pyramid Of The Sun, the Bosnian Pyramid Of The Moon, the Prehistoric Temple in Vratnica and the underground tunnel complex inside the Visoko valley. Preliminary research is foreseen on the pyramids of the Dragon, Love and Earth.

The Executive Committee of the Foundation expressed its disappointment about the appeared petitions with untrue content released by some opponents of the project, who never visited the locations of geo-archaeological research in Visoko. Nevertheless, the Foundation will continue to promote the principle of civil dialogue and open-minded approach to scientific argumentations. Consequently, the Foundation will involve into the international verification process of the research results archaeologists from Egypt, Jordan, Maleysia, Italy and other countries.

Thanks to the implementation of works and planned access to the pyramid entrances, the expected number of tourist visits should outnumber the last years of 250.000.
