POLICE REFORM TALKS ARE IN PROGRESS

SARAJEVO,Bosnia – A member of the Bosnian Presidency Nebojsa Radmanovic stated that the police reform talks are still in progress but do not have the media attention.”If the domestic and foreign representatives realize that it is a significant reform which will make the police function more efficiently, then the SAA agreement will be signed soon, Radmanovic told the press.

US Ambassador to Bosnia, Douglas McElhaney, Dragan Covic, new HDZ BiH Chairman and Chairman of HSP BiH (Đapić –Dr Jurišić), Zvonko Jurišić, held talks in Mostar on police reform and upcoming constitutional changes in Bosnia.

Jurišić set forth the stands of HSP on police reform, which must include a single police at the Bosnian state level, which would care of security of all citizens in Bosnia, said a statement issued by the party.

McElhaney expressed readiness of US administration to support the negotiations, but pointing out that the greatest responsibility rests with local politicians in Bosnia.

BOSNIAN PRESIDENCY HELD A SESSION YESTERDAY

SARAJEVO,Bosnia – The Bosnian Presidency held a session yesterday.The agenda included proposal on ratification of the base agreement between Bosnia and Vatican and additional protocol to the base agreement.

The Bosnian Presidency discussed invitation for participation at the UN General Assembly session to discuss the topic “Dialogue at the High Level Concerning Cooperation between different religions and Cultures”.

The Bosnian Presidency also discussed mandate expansion to the military and diplomatic representatives in missions around the world and the Bosnian Presidency budget

RETURNEE FAMILIES RECEIVED KEYS TO THEIR RECONSTRUCTED HOUSES

SARAJEVO,Bosnia – The Sarajevo Canton Minister of work, Social Policy, Displaced persons and Refugees Emina Dubravic handed down the keys to reconstructed houses of five families who returned to the villages of Strgacina, Kovaci and Dorici in the Rudo municipality. Their houses were reconstructed through the “Return to Eastern Bosnia” project.

The project also provided financial means for support of sustainable return.

Advisor to the Minister of Refugees and Displaced Persons Sulejman Alijagic, UNHCR representative Naveed Hussain, as well as the “Hilfswerk” NGO from Austria were present at the occasion, the Sarajevo Canton announced.
